Dinner: A to Z (brought to you by C)

Pardon the cell phone picture that is neither flattering nor properly colored.

Stephanie and I have been "patrons of the arts" for the past few years. We had season tickets to our local performing arts center Broadway Across America series. It was a great reason for us to get together for some adult conversation, singing, and dancing.

This year, for a lot of reasons, it was time for us to begin a new tradition.

We are now PoDM - Patrons of Dinner and a Movie.

Our inaugural event was last Friday - except we just planned to be PoD and not PoDM.

And, we devised a plan to eat our way through the alphabet. Our monthly dinner destinations are to be selected, alphabetically, from the "Restaurant" section of the yellow pages (remember those?).

Our first dinner would be at a restaurant that starts with "A." We decided to pass on each of the local Arby's and Applebee's and picked a great local Greek restaurant, The Apollon.

Then, there was a giant storm, and The Apollon had no power.

So, we decided to scour the phone book for restaurants beginning with "B." There are lots of Burger Kings and Buffalo Wild Wings near us, and one "B" restaurant, a new Italian place, that looked promising. Except, it was also in the part of town that was sans power.

So, we moved on to "C" and went to our favorite Italian place, Carmella's. Stephanie had the chicken parm. I had the ariana (chicken breast / crispy eggplant / prosciutto /asiago / tomato sauce / linguine). We shared the tiramisu. It was delightful.

And, now we need to decide if our next dinner should be at a "D" restaurant or if we should go back to "A." "D" would bring options such as:
Dairy Queen
Dick and Joan's Supper Club (a personal favorite!)
Domino's Pizza (one of several local places)

Hmmm. Maybe we should do a "Double D" and pick a "D" restaurant followed by a trip to Dairy Queen?
