Thank You # 26: Mike, Angie, Luke, & Dottie

Place cards lifted from something I saw in a Papersource catalog.

The photo doesn't really do it justice.
Our table scape was something even Sandra Lee would have been jealous of.

Sweet potatoes - a recipe so delicious that will be at every Thanksgiving from now until the end of time.

Cranberry relish - a blend of Angie's family recipe and a little something from the Pioneer Woman

Stuffing (that Brad HATED due to the mushrooms) from Pioneer Woman

 Luke and Cooper

 The side dish buffet

The Turkey Princess (a name coined by Angie), Dottie ate more food than anyone else at the Thanksgiving table. (Before and after photos for your viewing pleasure)

Luke and Cooper were also serious eaters.

My plate. Note the lack of gravy.

I (of course) could not make or eat just one dessert.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Lesson: Day # 18

New Learning for Day 18:
Adults get exhausted way easier than kids.

Today, we:
played at football class (aka Sports Bugs) at the Y
ate a healthy snack
walked to the park to swing and slide
ate lunch from Culver's (take-out eaten at home)
napped for a few hours
ate a healthy snack
picked apples at the orchard
had a gourmet dinner (hot dogs, mac and cheese, and green beans)
took a bath with extra bubbles
watched Handy Manny (I think the episode was "Long John Lopart")
read Llama Llama Mad at Mama
had two sleeping kids by 8:00 p.m.

Back to Reality

It's a Monday-type Tuesday. The bliss that is a three-day weekend is now a was. I did manage to make it to work on time this morning (and only changed my outfit once before leaving), but I didn't grocery shop, pay bills, or do anything responsible to get my week started right.

So, I will continue my slacking streak and blog a few more pictures from the weekend in lieu of doing something productive.

Sunday was the ultimate Memorial Day celebration at Angie's - pool time for the kiddos and plenty of food and beverages for the adults.

From the Past Five Days

1. Paper + Scissors = Happy Barb
I didn't think I really liked the February Studio Calico kit, but I've actually made five pages with it. Here is one of them; more to come later.

2. A new recipe.
Grill-ability has been very high.

3. A quiet Sunday morning at home.
It's been awhile since everyone has been around on a Sunday morning.

4. the Kiddos.
Miss Dottie and Sir Luke.

5. A funeral.
My mom's brother, Joe, has been missing since November. His body was found last Sunday, and his memorial service was Monday night. My brother wrote a great poem.
