Pretty Paper

Awhile ago. . .when I had two days off work because it was too stinkin' cold to leave the house. . .I made some stuff.

I used almost every little scrap of my Studio Calico December kit.

Some of the creations were very much my own.

Others were lifted from the fabulous April.

And (of course!) I made a mini.

I am looking forward to slicing up some paper today.

25 Down. 340 to Go.

Jan. 15: Thursday
The first of two unexpected days off work due to cold weather. I managed to leave the house, despite the cold, to take Natalie to a "big girl" lunch at Olive Garden.

Jan. 16: Friday
The second of two unexpected days off work due to cold weather. I played with paper all day, only leaving the house to pick up a London Fog from Starbucks.

Jan. 17: Saturday
A busy day. . . visit to Jalin for a haircut bright and early, lots of shopping, and plenty of time left over to finish playing with my December Studio Calico kit.

Jan. 18: Sunday
Celebrated Noah and Chase's fourth birthday with dinner at Turner Hall and an Admirals Game.

Jan. 19: Monday
Back to work after a four day weekend. . . had a meeting to plan for the reading convention and lots of packing to do once I finally got home.

Jan. 20: Tuesday
Inauguration day. I have to admit. . . I faked this picture. I watched the inauguration perched on a table in an empty seventh grade math classroom. It was cool to walk around the building and see so many kids watching. In the excitement of watching, there just wasn't time to pull out the camera. After school, we headed to Milwaukee for one last night in the cold WI weather before catching a flight to San Diego.

Jan. 21: Wednesday
Today's trip didn't go quite as planned; four extra hours in Milwaukee because of mechanical difficulties was just not what I expected. Eventually, we did make it to sunny San Diego. I enjoyed dinner with Rob, a walk around Balboa Park, a show, and drinks at the Red Fox.

Jan. 22: Thursday
The main reason for the trip to CA was a conference about planning and evaluating professional development with Tom Guskey. But, there was plenty of time left at night for relaxing, eating, and visiting. We enjoyed dinner at Sally's tonight.

Jan. 23: Friday

After another day of learning, we took a cab (driven by Harold) to Coronado Island just in time to see the sunset. Eventually, I met Rob for some In & Out Burger and a visit to his apartment.

Jan. 24: Saturday
Home at last! Brad and Memphis were happy to see me. We caught a late showing of Slumdog Millionaire.

Jan. 25: Sunday
Nothing fun about Sunday. Grocery shopping. Unpacking. Laundry.

Stay tuned. I have some fun things to share this week:
Scrap-tastic February kit and project kit
How I used my December Studio Calico kit

Welcome to my house

It's been awhile since I pretended I lived in the Pottery Barn catalog.

Here is my living room.
Let's forget that I have a dog who leaves oodles of black fur everywhere and could actually own a light-colored couch. . .

The living room would - of course - include a fabulously styled television.

The dining room.
Although, I think I'd choose to accent with red instead of yellow.

Here is the bedroom I would live in. . . if I wasn't married.

Here is the "manly" bedroom that I'd share with Brad.

And, here is the guest bedroom.
Deliciously girly.

And, an office.

And a little space.
This is where I would love to spend today curled up with a book and a London Fog.

I guess I probably need a bathroom, too.

14 Down. 351 to Go.

Still doing great with my photo-a-day.
Haven't used green square at all!

January 8
Big news in the mail--Brad's official acceptance letter arrived. He escaped from the house for a weekend of ice fishing. After a writing project meeting (and a Blizzard), I huddle up on the couch to enjoy some Grey's Anatomy. It was finally good again! All is right with the world.

January 9
Brad is still gone. Instead of taking down the Christmas tree, I ordered Chinese and fell asleep on the couch at 6:00 p.m..

January 10
Angie and I treated ourselves to a deluxe spa day and a fabulous dinner finished off with some playtime with the Little Man.

January 11
Nicky, Natalie, and Katelyn shared dinner with us. Brad occupied the kiddos with some Don't Break the Ice after dinner.

January 12
Needed to buy some tulips at the store to remind me that despite the freezing cold temperatures spring is on it's way. . . eventually.

January 13
One more calendar for 2009.

January 14
We finally took the Christmas tree down.

7 down. 358 to go.

The first week of Project 365 went well.

January 1
Quiet New Years' Day at home finished off by a steak dinner and risotto, my new favorite food.

January 2
Another quiet day at home - just Memphis and me - playing with paper and pictures.

January 3
A day of scrapbooking with Stephanie topped off by a fabulous meatloaf dinner - complete with mashed potatoes and creamed corn.

January 4
The last day of vacation. Filled with grocery shopping, house cleaning, and lots of kiddos. We babysat for Jason and Natalie and Katelyn stopped for a visit.

January 5
Back to work followed by the dentist (one cavity) and a broken dishwasher.

January 6
Everything is slippery - very slippery.

January 7

Lots of chances for photos today: unexpected letter from Bobby, a new job for Brad, a Studio Calico kit, and fun tights.
